Former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash has filed for divorce from his wife of nearly nine years, Perla Ferrar. The Velvet Revolver rocker, born Saul Hudson, cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split, according to legal papers filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
Sources say the breakup is "extremely acrimonious", according to a celebrity website. Will it be a bitter split for the rocker and his latest ex-wife?
The pair, who wed in October 2001, have two sons, London Emilio, eight, and six-year-old Cash Anthony. Slash is asking for joint custody of the boys and lists the date of the couple's separation as July 15, 2010, the website reports.
The couple are said not to have signed a pre-nuptial agreement but he is prepared to pay spousal support, it is claimed. Laura Wasser, a lawyer for the English-born musician, did not return calls.
Slash divorced actress Renee Suran in 1997 after five years of marriage. The 45-year-old guitarist, who grew up in Stoke-on-Trent, quit Guns N' Roses in 1996. He reportedly met Ferrar, 35, backstage at a Guns N' Roses gig.
